Aren't you glad the ads are over? How about 1 more from me?

It's all over! Congrats to President Marx....I  mean Obama. (I keed I keed)  Who knows, this could all work out very nicely.  I may get a tax cut and some cheaper insurance out of the deal.  Or we could end up The People's Republic of the United States of America (thank you Steve Franz).  Either way we were going to be screwed over the next 4 years.  (www.constitutionparty.com that's where I'm headed) I just hope that all this political interest carries over into every election.  I love the discussion, the hype, the passion.  This is how it should be.  Just keep caring!!!

But the best part is the end of political spam and slanderous ads all over everything.  Our radio station and I will miss the revenue that comes with it, but it all just makes me sick.  Next time I'm voting for the person that ran the least amount of ads to thank them for not annoying me.

So what do you do now after the election?  Go listen to The After Show.  My Podcast now has it's own website at www.theaftershow.info  That's right .info.  because the show is informational....and it was only 99 cents from godaddy!  What do you want me to do the .com is parked and looking for over $8000.  I don't think so.

You can also subscribe on itunes.  Search for "Paul Van Sickle" or you should be able to click http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/ and get right to it.

In our next show Jeff and I have it out over whether I wasted my vote on a third party candidate.  Then no more politics!  Back to fun loving rediculousness and cool intervews.  Thanks.  And tell your friends

The After Show is sponsored by www.barterzap.com hosted by www.cdbible.net webhosting and has theme music provided by www.myspace.com/ohblessedthought (new song up now!)

So Close Yet So Far Away...could you help

Alright with just under 36 hours to go I still need $495 to reach the recommitment mark.  Remember I have to raise half of the minimum amount in order to continue my training and run in the San Diego Marathon on June 1. While that number seems big it could be really easy to achieve.
There are 156 people recieving this message.  If 50 of you were able to donate $10 then that would put me right where I need to be.  I thank you so much for your support.  I hope you can be one of the 50!

26.2 miles for what reason?

So people have been asking me the obvious question of "Why do you want to run 26.2 miles?"  I have had many responses to that question but the real reason came to the surface a couple of days ago.  Because the fact is, I really don’t want to run 26.2 miles.  Now don’t get me wrong on the fact that I love running.  But I have not enjoyed anything over 18 miles ever in my life.  The last 8 miles of the marathon I ran in 2006 were just aweful.  I really didn’t want to run ever again.  And I really didn’t for 2 years.  You may have seen my little quote next to my profile picture on myspace that said "If I ever say I’m going for a 5 hour run, please slap me."  No one has taken me up on that yet.

"So if you aren’t looking forward to it then why do it?"  There is no way that I would consider running a marathon except for Team in Training.  In the last two years I have had relatives and friends diagnosed with blood cancers.  I have seen people get better and I have seen people get worse.  And frankly I’m sick of seeing people die.  I’m not running for me, I’m running for them.  I feel that this is how I can make a difference.

I hope that you can help make a difference as well.  I still need $795 by April 1 to hit my half-way point. This recommittment mark is mandatory in order for me to continue my training and run the San Diego Marathon on June 1.

Tomorrow is Five Dollar Friday.  I pray that you will be able to make at least a $5 donation.  Heating and Cooling Distributors has said that they will match the first $100 given.  I hope you can take this oppertunity to double your gift.

Thank you so much

THE AFTER SHOW

So I have a new feature that is available only on www.PaulVanSickle.com

I realized that a lot of the conversations I have been having with my interns would be for great radio, but do to time constraints and relativity to what we are doing on air at the time, we don't get to it.  Thus was born "The After Show"  We record another segment off the air for your enjoyment and post it on paulvansickle.com in the "aircheck" section.

Most of the topics covered will not be related to spirituality, which is another reason why we won't talk about it on the air.  Just another side of us that some of you would enjoy listening to with out the choir music in between.  Nothing we talk about is "inappropriate" but just aimed at a slightly different audience than would normally tune in to KCWJ.  A full subscribable podcast will be up soon.  But for now go to paulvansickle.com

The first episode deals with my nipple injury and Nathan the Intern's hatred of parades.

Tomorrow we will be discussing a strange press release that was faxed to the radio station.  It is a sad commentary on the state of our social well being.

Listen and let us know what you think!
